Conservative groups break with Republican leadership - The Washington Times: Nation/Politics: " 'If the president doesn't take a stand on this, there's a real chance the Republicans' voter base will not be enthusiastic about turning out in November, no matter who the Democrats nominate,' Mr. Beckner said. "

Talk about politics of self-destruction. Conservatives do not need Kennedy and company to destroy them; they find a way to do it to themselves. A decision not to vote for conservatives will be equally effective in electing more liberals as a decision to vote for liberals. Nobody gets everything they want; that's why every decision is a value decision.

Leading Calif. Dem blasts Arnold's budget - (United Press International): "Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's proposed $99 billion California state budget ran into more flack Monday from a key Democratic lawmaker."

Oh, now there's a surprise. Grey's buddies would rather have a return to the day of raping the California treasury and taxpayers.

Welcome to WGOP - DC Radio 700: "That's a wonderful image: The hyper-lefty from San Francisco leading a crusade to turn Texas into a Democratic state. I hope someone brings a video camera. Sore loser rhetoric, of course, but amusing in the extreme considering that the redistricting battle has always been about undoing a deeply unfair incumbent protection plan cooked up by judges that saddled overwhelmingly Republican Texas with a Democratic majority in its Congressional delegation. What's lovely to watch is the attempt by the suddenly soon-to-be-retired Texas Democrats to hang their outrage on the Voting Rights Act."

USATODAY.com - Attacks down 22% since Saddam's capture: "Attacks against coalition forces in Iraq have dropped 22% in the four weeks since Saddam Hussein's capture, military records show."

This is bad news for Democratic candidates, especially Howard Dean.

O'Neill: Plan to Hit Iraq Began Pre-9/11 (washingtonpost.com): "A senior administration official said O'Neill's 'suggestion that the administration was planning an invasion of Iraq days after taking office is laughable. Nobody listened to him when he was in office. Why should anybody now?' "

Let's see now. O'Neill was fired, wasn't he? Sour grapes, perhaps.
